What does vegan skincare mean to you?
Environmentally friendly, plant based ingredients contained in waste free packaging is our answer. More natural, plant-based ingredients have got to be better for your skin, and vegan skin care products offer a whole range of benefits.
Plant based skincare has fewer potential chemical irritants and contain natural ingredients. Overall vegan skincare is a lot less likely to irritate your skin. Natural ingredients packed with antioxidants and vitamins results in healthy looking skin. Not to mention how much better it is for the environment!
“ Vegan products tout the same general benefits of a vegan diet in terms of reducing environmental damage and promoting kindness towards animals, but they can also be really beneficial for your skin.”
Skin type is largely determined by genetics, but every skin is different. Therefore, it is important to know what type of skin you have and the factors that may affect it. There are five types of healthy skin, normal, dry, oily, combination (both oily and dry skin) and sensitive. But all skin has its unique characteristics and requirements.
The condition of our skin can, however, vary greatly. It is affected by the various internal and external factors it is subjected to. Whatever your skin condition we have a product that will help you to take the best care of it. Our products are categorised to make finding and choosing what you need easy.
When formulating a recipe I like to incorporate organic fruit and vegetable purees. For example our Cucumber and Avocado body and facial bars are made with whole organic cucumbers and our Ylang Ylang range is naturally coloured with organic carrot puree. I will often use different spices and additives like spirulina powder, liquid chlorophyll, turmeric or paprika, to name a few, to naturally colour my products. These natural plant based additives can have amazing benefits when applied to the skin.

When it comes to using plant based ingredients in skincare the options are pretty much limitless. One of my favourite sayings is “if you would not put it in your body than why would you want to put it on your body”. After all, our skin is our largest organ and its absorption properties are outstanding. So you can bet your bottom dollar that if you apply it to your skin, than it will make it inside your body in some shape or form.
If you are dedicated to a truly vegan lifestyle than I believe that it is very important that you assess your skincare products and regime. Natural is always best and taking the time to consider your options will benefit not just your skin but your overall health and wellbeing.
